Additionally, manual processes and legacy systems often result in inefficiencies, inaccuracies, and lack of visibility into the compliance process and the underlying data. Along with sales and use tax, the complexity of other indirect taxes such as property tax, excise tax, and value-added tax (VAT) can add more hurdles to a company’s compliance obligations. US EU - Digital Identity Framework 01 May 2024 The new EU Regulation on Digital Electronic Identity 2024/1183 was published yesterday (30 April 2024). The regulation is about securing the digital exchange of information and will affect the development of electronic invoicing in Europe. The regulation’s provisions for secure electronic transactions and electronic signatures could indirectly support the use and legal recognition of electronic invoicing across the EU by providing a secure and standardized way to authenticate and sign electronic documents. The regulation enters into force on 20 May (20 days following the publication date).
